Privacy Policy

Effective May 7, 2026. We collect a small amount of data to run the visibility audit, deliver paid services, and keep the site working. This page describes exactly what, why, and who we share it with.

What we collect

When you submit the visibility audit form on the homepage, we collect: business name, business type, city, online setup, proof level, current link, average customer value, and (optionally) an email address. We also automatically log your IP address, browser user-agent, and referrer for rate-limiting and abuse prevention.

If you purchase a package, Stripe collects your billing details directly (card number, billing address, name on card). We never see or store your card information; Stripe is the system of record for payment data. We receive a customer ID, your email, and the line items you purchased.

If you submit the contact form, the intake questionnaire, or the "Beat My Competitors" interview, we collect what you provide there: name, email, business details, and any free-text answers.

How we use it

  • Generate your audit report. The submitted business data is sent to verified third-party APIs (described below) to produce a visibility report scoped to your business and city.
  • Deliver purchased services. If you buy a package, we use your business name, address, phone, and other contact information to set up the work product (Google Business Profile, website, directory listings, etc.).
  • Send transactional and follow-up email. If you provide an email, we may send a copy of your report, receipt confirmation for purchases, status updates on delivery, and occasional follow-up about related services. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Improve the service. We log scan results, conversion events, and basic usage analytics to identify bugs and improve report accuracy.
  • Run advertising. We use Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to track conversions for our advertising campaigns. This includes hashed email and limited browser metadata.

Third parties we share data with

We use the following service providers to operate the site. Each one receives only the data needed to perform their role:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe privacy
  • Vercel — site hosting and serverless functions. Vercel privacy
  • Supabase — database for audit records and customer accounts. Supabase privacy
  • Resend — outbound email delivery. Resend privacy
  • Google Cloud (Maps and Places API) — geocoding and verifying business listings. Google privacy
  • Google AI (Gemini) — query intent classification for the audit. We send your business type, city, and state. We do not send personal data.
  • DeepSeek — generating the narrative copy in the audit report. We send factual audit signals (rank, rating, review count, category). We do not send personal data.
  • Meta (Pixel and Conversions API) — advertising and conversion tracking. We send hashed email, browser metadata, and conversion event names. Meta privacy

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone outside the providers listed above.

Cookies and local storage

The site uses browser local storage for two things: remembering your light/dark theme preference, and limiting each visitor to one free scan. The Meta Pixel sets cookies for advertising attribution. We do not currently use Google Analytics or any other tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Audit records are retained for 12 months in our database, after which they're purged. Customer account records and billing history are retained as long as you have an active relationship with us, plus 7 years for tax compliance after the relationship ends. Email communications are retained at our discretion for support purposes.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the data we have about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or request deletion at any time by emailing hello@nearmewebsites.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you live in California, the EU, or another jurisdiction with specific data protection laws, those laws apply in addition to this policy.

Children

This site and its services are intended for adult business owners. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the data we collect, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest in our database, and access controls. No internet service is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we collect or use your data, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and (if we have your email on file) notify you by email.
