Refund Policy

Effective May 7, 2026. Plain English: 24 hours to cancel for any reason; after that the package is non-refundable because work has begun, except where we fail to deliver what we said we'd deliver.

The 24-hour cancellation window

You may cancel any package and receive a full refund within 24 hours of purchase, for any reason or no reason, as long as work has not yet begun on your project. To cancel, email hello@nearmewebsites.com from the address you used to purchase. We'll refund the full charge to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Work usually does not begin within the first 24 hours, so this window almost always applies. The exception is if you've explicitly asked us to start immediately and we've confirmed in writing — in that case, the cancellation window closes as soon as work begins.

After work begins

Once we've started work — claiming or editing your Google Business Profile, building your website, submitting directory listings, or producing any other deliverable — the package becomes non-refundable. This is because the work delivered (a configured profile, a built site, submitted listings) cannot be unwound, and we've already invested billable time. This is standard for service-based businesses.

If you are unhappy with the work in progress, email us. We'll talk through revisions. We are willing to put in reasonable effort to make the work right within the original scope.

If we fail to deliver

If we miss our published delivery timeline by more than 7 calendar days for reasons within our control, you can request a full refund regardless of the cancellation window. "Within our control" means: not caused by you (e.g., delays in granting Google Business Profile access, providing photos, responding to questions) and not caused by external services (e.g., Google rejecting your profile, Stripe payment failures, third-party API outages).

If we deliver something that materially differs from what was described in the package — for example, fewer pages than promised, missing core features, or work performed at a quality clearly below industry standard — we will either revise the work to match the description or refund the package, at our discretion based on what's most appropriate.

What we won't refund for

  • Lack of ranking or lead results. No package guarantees specific Google rankings, search visibility, traffic, calls, or leads. Refunds are not available for "results not as good as I hoped" — only for work not delivered or materially deficient.
  • Changes you didn't communicate during delivery. If you didn't ask for revisions during the project window (e.g., the 14 days of post-launch edits included in Build My Local Site), we are not obligated to revise the work for free after the window closes.
  • Customer-caused delays. If you fail to provide required information or access, the project may be paused. Refund eligibility for missed timelines does not apply when delays are caused by your non-response.
  • Third-party platform decisions. If Google, Yelp, Bing, or another platform suspends, rejects, or removes your profile after we've delivered, that's outside our control and not a refund-eligible event.
  • Beat My Competitors quote-based work. Refund terms for custom-quoted work are stated in the quote you sign before work begins. They are typically milestone-based.

How to request a refund

Email hello@nearmewebsites.com from the email address used at purchase. Include:

  • The package name (Get Me Listed, Get Me Found, Build My Local Site, Beat My Competitors)
  • The order number from your Stripe receipt
  • The reason for the refund request

We'll respond within 2 business days with either a confirmation of refund (if eligible) or a clear explanation of why the request doesn't meet the policy above. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method and typically arrive in 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your card issuer instead of contacting us first, we will respond to the chargeback with documentation showing the work delivered and the policy you agreed to at purchase. We strongly prefer email to chargebacks — most disputes are resolved faster and more favorably for everyone when we talk first.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Changes apply only to purchases made after the effective date; older purchases are governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase.
